Style sheets are a very powerful tool for the Web site developer. They give you the chance to be completely consistent with the look and feel of your pages, while giving you much more control over the layout and design than straight HTML ever did.

Invented in 1997, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) are just now starting to be widely used among browsers and Web developers are learning to be more comfortable with them. Those of you who use HomeSite 4.0 know that they are eventually going to take the place of tags such as <FONT>, which have been deprecated in HTML 4.0.
There are three parts to CSS: the styles, their placement, and the fact that they can cascade.
The Styles
One of the more common styles applied to HTML is the color and size of text. In HTML 3.2 you would create a blue H4 headline like this:

The birth of Tasmanian devils, which are furless and smaller than crabs when they are born, usually comes 21 days after conception.
Four of the miniature devils fit in the pouch of a female, where they spend about 21 weeks growing, firmly clinging to the mother’s teats. The young ride out the cool winter of the southern hemisphere in these cozy surroundings, first venturing outdoors at the beginning of spring.
Strict conformity to the rhythm of the seasons is important for Tasmanian Devils, the largest carnivores among marsupials. And yet biologists are starting to observe individual animals that are no longer sticking to the normal order of things for their species, which has ensured their survival on the Australian island for many thousands of years. Have you ever been to Germany during winter season? And have you tried drinking the famous Gluehwein? Okay, if you haven’t tried it yet then here is the recipe for you.
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle of red table wine
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- lemon and orange peel
Procedure:
Boil all ingredients together except the wine and reduce by half.
Strain and add the wine.
Bring the mixture almost to the boiling point.
Serve hot.
Enjoy with lots of friends.
